Festival Stand Design
Project developed at Pavilhão 3
2015 - Present
This project was one of the most challenging stand designs I have had the pleasure to work on so far. The main goal was to create a two-floor festival stand with a VIP zone on the first floor and a store on the ground floor, which could function independently or together as needed in each festival. Using sea containers was ideal for modular construction and significantly reduced construction costs. In total, 12 sea containers were used to create a stand with a total area of approximately 315 square meters.
Due to restrictions on tobacco branding, it was not allowed to use any branding on the outside. The challenge was to create a concept that would captivate the attention and curiosity of potential customers. The client wanted a modern look and wanted to incorporate the angular shapes of the Marlboro brand in a covert way. My intention was to create a structure that was drastically different from other brands present at the event. I chose two main coating materials, white Dibond and concrete Viroc, which were distinctive and contrasting with each other and with the competition. I created an ironic concept of an angular, clean white crystal look emerging from the rough, straight concrete.
Finally, I came up with the idea of lighting the outside of the stand by adding RGB LED lights between the triangular shapes, which would pop up in the nighttime. Today, I look upon this festival stand design with pride. Although it was originally intended to be used for the first two years, it has since been adapted to meet the new brand requirements of today.
