A "natural" signage

Parque Bensaúde is located in São Domingos de Benfica and is one of many Lisbon park's. Due to its location it is a very important park not only for residents of this area but also for those living in the surroundings. For many years this park fell into oblivion having been neglected in all ways. However, last years the municipality has directed all efforts to recover this important green space in order to make it inviting from children to the elderly.
The main goal was to design simple and minimal shapes with natural materials corresponding to a less invasive concept and making this signage fully integrated in the environment.

The signage’s typology developed was almost grounded and composed of two parts. The metal structure is grounded into a concrete shoe where the wood block will be fitted and screwed. The materials used are very simple but with all the correct treatments to survive years with less maintenance and without losing its features. 

In this park there are many different types of trees, a community garden, a snack-bar with a pleasant esplanade, an amphitheater, a children's playground, a dog's playground and a lot of open space to friends and family events. This is a really important and useful city space.
